What is this blog about?

Financial Independence (FIRE):

For me, FIRE is life! I am happy to have found this community and I would be doing a disservice if I didn’t share it with my own circle of influence.

I am a believer that traveling is a way to learn and grow. I am mainly looking for new experiences, but I’ll sprinkle in the occasional all-inclusive vacation as well.

Who is this blog for?

The primary audience I’d like to reach are my kids! Not only are we on the path to FI, but I’d also like to introduce this concept to them so that they can become second-generation FI. I also have a notoriously bad memory. With this blog, I hope to keep a real-time record of events that my kids can benefit from in the future.

Second, my immediate circle of influence. When you discover FIRE, you can’t unsee it. I can talk about this until the cows come home (whatever that means!). Rather than annoy my friends, I hope they can use these writings and learnings to kickstart their own path to FI.

Everybody else! I find it encouraging to see others that are on the path to FI that have similar stories as mine. By sharing our family’s journey, I hope to return that favor and inspire somebody else to continue on their journey to FI.

What’s in it for you?

Great question! I aim to provide value to you by sharing our journey to Financial Independence by:

  • Sharing family spending (budget) habits
  • Travel hacks / optimization, including how much our trips cost
  • Sharing additional resources to aid you in your journey

Who are we?

I go by Rara. I am an (elder) millennial looking to avoid the traps of lifestyle inflation, reach financial independence, be present with my family, travel all over the world and learn as much as possible. Is that too much to ask?

Why Moon on FI?

To the Moon on FI…To the Moon while on FI…Travel (to the moon and beyond) while on the path to Financial Independence. Or Moon on FI for short. You get it? Trying to marry two passions…my obsession with Financial Independence (FIRE) and traveling.
